Southwest Seasoning Collards

MICROWAVE COLLARDS SOUTHWEST SEASONING – SERVINGS: 2

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • Collard Greens, washed cut in pieces – 4 oz
  • Black Pepper, ground – 1/8 tsp
  • Water – 2 tsp
  • Apple Cider Vinegar – 1 tsp
  • Southwest Seasoning – 1/2 tsp

Adjust ingredients according to desired servings. Salt and pepper to taste.

MICROWAVE COLLARDS SOUTHWEST SEASONING – STEPS:

  1. Mix ingredients in a bowl, open bag and pour the ingredients with the collards into the bag.
  2. Properly seal the bag “zipper”. Ensure it is tightly closed.
  3. Stand the filled bag on a microwavable plate and place in microwave.
  4. Average cooking time is 2 minutes for a 1000w microwave.
  5. When done, remove the plate/bag using oven mitts. Let stand for 1 minute.  If not sufficiently cooked reseal the bag and continue cooking in 30 second increments.
  6. Carefully open bag and using tongs place vegetables on plate.
  7. Pour any remaining seasonings and or liquid over the plated food.

IMPORTANT: Handle carefully: hot steam/liquid escapes from the bag.
